The father of Modern Science Galilei Galileo said: “Philosophy [nature] is written in that great book whichever is before our eyes -- I mean the universe -- but we cannot understand it if we do not first learn the language and grasp the symbols in which it is written. The book is written in mathematical language, and the symbols are triangles, circles and other geometrical figures, without whose help it is impossible to comprehend a single word of it; without which one wanders in vain through a dark labyrinth.” The most famous English Logicist and Philosopher Bertrand Russell said “Mathematics, rightly viewed, possesses not only truth, but supreme beauty—a beauty cold and austere, like that of sculpture, without appeal to any part of our weaker nature, without the gorgeous trappings of painting or music, yet sublimely pure, and capable of a stern perfection such as only the greatest art can show.” Pie Mathematics Association, a non-profitable NGO and registered charitable trust, took it as a great challenge to propagate the beauty of mathematics and to dispel the math phobia prevailing among students and people from all walks of life. It is helping everyone to view mathematics in the right way as Russell described above. This is a unique association functioning solely for the purpose of spreading mathematics through publishing engaging books in English and Tamil and conducting workshops, exhibitions for students to infuse their interest in the subject. This association had helped several institutions in hosting mathematics lectures and programmes. We have provided more than 200 lectures and demonstrations so far throughout India. Mingle with us and enjoy viewing mathematics as a discipline of enriching experience and not merely a subject of securing centum marks in exams. Mathematics is much more than this. “Mathematics is a subject which penetrates very deeply in human mind and mixed completely within our thoughts. Using this thought one can explore and understand the nature and thereby appreciate its beauty. Knowing mathematics is the best possible way to understand our universe” -Views of Mathematics by Founder of Pie Mathematics Association
